This large renovation involved the removal of poorly built additions and the reuse the brick shell of the original house. New additions were conceived as simple manipulations of the elemental salt-box form. The front facade is divided into three volumes to maintain a scale sympathetic to the crowded village in which the house sits. The rear facade is opened with windows to give quiet views of an expansive garden, a new swimming pool, and woodland beyond.
